"US, EU, UK agree to remove selected Russian banks from SWIFT"
The United States, European Union and United Kingdom on Saturday agreed to block “selected’ Russian banks from the SWIFT global financial messaging system and to impose ”restrictive measures” on its central bank in retaliation for its invasion of Ukraine.
The measures were announced jointly as part of a new round of financial sanctions meant to “hold Russia to account and collectively ensure that this war is a strategic failure for (Russian President Vladimir) Putin.” The central bank sanctions restrictions target $600 billion in reserves that the Kremlin has at its disposal.

ロシアのウクライナ侵攻に対して、アメリカ、欧州連合、イギリスが SWIFT（国際銀行間通信協会：Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication）からのロシア排除を決定したという記事です。
SWIFTとは、金融メッセージサービスを行っている団体で、彼らのホームページによりますと、200以上の国家と地域で、11,000以上の金融機関が利用している 信頼性の高い、安全な金融取引の仲介と実行を提供しています。このサービスが利用できなくなると、ロシアは、ドル建てでの決済が困難となり、世界経済から孤立してしまい、その影響は、計り知れないと思われます。
記事によりますと、今回の経済制裁には、ロシアの中央銀行に対する制裁も加えられており、彼らが持っている外貨準備金6,000億ドルをターゲットにしているとのことです。SWIFT から排除され、通貨危機になった場合、外貨準備金が減少し、使用できなくなると、 更に、ロシア経済は、深刻な状況になります。
